January Homophones

Since it is the first week of the month, we have spelling homophones. Here they are:

roll: to move along a surface in a rotational manner
role: the part played by an actor or an actress

lone: someone without a companion

bases: the corners of the infield in baseball; the bottom portion of a solid figure
basis: a fundamental idea
ceiling: the upper portion of a room
sealing: to put together permanently
close: to shut off
clothes: what you wear to cover your body

The homophones that we do at the beginning of every month are more like vocab because they show us the word and we have to choose the right meaning. They are the easiest!
